Tilted Kilt and Iron Will Fitness Team Up to Discuss Fitness

We all know that losing weight and getting in shape can be difficult – but that it can certainly be done. The Tilted Kilt girls are no exception!

Hannah and Laura, from Tilted Kilt in Milford, recently met with Trainer Dee and Whitney Quaglia – from Iron Will Fitness in Manchester – at Silver Sands Beach in Milford to discuss fitness and their fitness journeys.

What they had to say will inspire you to get off the couch and get active!

Hannah got pregnant at a young age, 21, and was skinny, but gained 50 pounds with the pregnancy. After, she said she felt horrible about herself, but started changing her eating habits and working out.

“[I started making] small changes – like doing situps while watching TV, and walking around the block with the stroller and the dogs,” she said. “Little things like that to get toned and help me feel better about myself so I could do the things I wanted to with my daughter, and now that she’s older, keep up with her.”

For Laura, she was 50 pounds overweight and just decided that she wasn’t happy. To make the change, she started eating cleanly and going to the gym frequently.

“I feel like you start with one goal, and when you accomplish that one goal, you start building more and more and you start accomplishing a lot more,” she said.

Whitney added that it’s important for women (and men) to remember is that they don’t always need to make these giant goals that are hard to achieve.

“It really does start with putting on your sneakers and getting out the door,” she said. “Getting to the gym is just a first step – getting out of your house is the first step.”
